A BRIEF HISTORY OF PHYSICS MASTER STUDY PROGRAM
The Postgraduate Physics Masters Study Program at the State University of Medan (UNIMED) is one of the new study programs that was established in 2020 with a decision on the implementation of which was obtained on February 3, 2020 from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology with a Decree No. 204/M/2020.
Starting from April 2021 until now the Physics Masters Study Program is chaired by Prof. Dr. Makmur Sirait, M.Si and Secretary Dr. Rita Juliani, M.Si
The curriculum used is the KKNI with the number of credits reaching 40 credits. Lectures with various learning models / blended learning and learning by implementing 6 main tasks that students must follow, namely Routine Tasks, Journal Reviews, Research Reviews, Idea Engineering, Mini Research and project-based learning. Learning with various learning models / blended learning
1.1. Vision
To become a master of Physics study program that excels in physics science based on industrial engineering of natural materials that is recognized at national and international levels in 2030.
1.2. Mission
- Organizing a quality learning process in research-based physics and
- Organizing and disseminating quality research results in the field of physics based on material technology engineering to support industry.
- Organizing community service in the implementation of research results and innovation products of students and lecturers in the business world and
- Organizing mutual cooperation with stakeholders that supports improving the quality of learning, research and community service
1.3. Study Program Objectives
- Produce competent graduates in the field of physics and its application to the business world and
- Produce graduates who have national insight, entrepreneurial culture and attitudes
- Produce scientific research in physics based on the natural material industry and the needs of stakeholders
- Produce scientific publications in accredited national and international journals
- Produce physical scientific innovation products that are useful for improving welfare
- Generate mutual cooperation with stakeholders that support improving the quality of learning, research and community service.
1.4. Target
The strategic objectives of the Master of Physics study program are prepared based on the vision, mission and objectives, future challenges and consideration of the existing resources and infrastructure. The Master of Physics study program expects to achieve the following targets:
- Implementation of a learning system with ethics and morals in scientific research
- Availability of quality graduates who are professional in the development of research road maps and the production of various innovative products.
- Achieving superior quality of research results and publications
- Research results can be used by the community and industry
