In his congratulatory remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Baharuddin, ST., M.Pd. expressed heartfelt appreciation to the graduates and their families.
He reminded graduates that the ceremony does not mark the end of their learning journey but should instead serve as the beginning of a new chapter where knowledge and skills obtained at UNIMED are applied toward building a successful future.

The Rector encouraged graduates to pursue further studies at the master's and doctoral levels to enhance their professional competencies. He reaffirmed UNIMED’s commitment to achieving “Excellent and International Accreditation” for all study programs in line with the university’s vision of becoming an outstanding institution in education, industrial engineering, and culture.

He also highlighted the government’s newly launched program, “Diktisaintek Berdampak,” which aims to transform higher education, science, and technology as part of Indonesia’s strategic roadmap toward “Indonesia Emas 2045.” The program emphasizes equitable access, relevance, and societal impact. The Rector stressed that graduates must embody excellence, integrity, a growth mindset, and strong soft skills to become agents of change in an increasingly digital and competitive world.

The academic oration delivered by Prof. Dr. Syawal Gultom, M.Pd. echoed the life principles of renowned investor Warren Buffett, emphasizing three key lessons:

  1. The best investment is investing in oneself.

  2. Patience and long-term thinking lead to success.

  3. A simple life grounded in principles brings true fulfillment.

These values, he noted, can serve as guiding principles for UNIMED graduates as they build meaningful, ethical, and sustainable careers.
